NBTE TEAM VISITS FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OKO FOR RESOURCE INSPECTION

A team of officials from National Board for Technical Education( NBTE) visited Federal Polytechnic Oko on Wednesday 10th December,2025 for resource inspection and were received by the Rector, Dr.Chioma Irene Awuzie.

The team was led by Dr. Adetunji Jokosho who is the Chief Executive Officer of Criterion Global Assurance Ltd, the vendor appointed by NBTE for the conduct of quality assurance in institutions in the South East. Also in attendance was NBTE South East Zonal Director, Engr. Ngozi Okelekwe.

Dr. Adetunji promised that they will be thorough and will put in their best to ensure that Federal Polytechnic Oko carries out its mandate to produce graduates who will improve and increase man power provision nationwide.

Earlier, Engr.Okelekwe stated that she will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation; and also to give guide and ensure that the vendor works in line with NBTE criteria. She used the opportunity to thank the Rector for nominating staff of the Polytechnic to attend Quality Assurance Assessors training which held at Nnewi.

She revealed that Federal Polytechnic Oko staff performed well at the training and have been deployed for field work which will continue till March when they are expected to come for the second phase of the training.

Rector, Dr.Awuzie in her remarks welcomed the team and assured that the Polytechnic will fully co-operate and work with them to ensure that the resource inspection goes well. She revealed that Management requested for increase in carrying capacity for Mass Communication ND programme, Business Administration and Management ND programme as well as Science Laboratory Technology ND programme.

During the exit interview, following the completion of their assignment, various sub- teams made their findings and recomendations known to the Management. Dr.Adetunji, the team leader however, revealed that reports from the various sub-teams suggest that the Polytechnic has more strength than weakness in the departments being assessed and commended the Management for making laudable provisions on ground.

The Deputy Rector, Administration, Dr Kenneth Ezekwe speaking on behalf of the Rector, appreciated the team for their work and promised that the management will address the grey areas that were pointed out. He stated that the Rector is committed to upholding high quality standards in the institution.
