Li Linping and Hu Ting who were the two Chinese expatriates that taught Chinese language at the Confucius Classroom were well celebrated during a sendoff organized for them following the expiration of their contract. The colourful ceremony had the Ag. Rector, Dr.  Onyegbu as well as principal officers and other senior management officers of the Polytechnic in attendance.

At the ceremony, the Ag. Rector eulogized the duo for their commitment, dedication and zeal in impacting knowledge to students. He appreciated them for their efforts in uplifting the Chinese Confucius classroom and wished them well in their future endeavours.

He also commended the immediate past Rector, Engr. Dr. Francisca Nwafulugo for her doggedness which ensured that NBTE gave approval to the study of Chinese Language in the Polytechnic. He stated that the programme have become quite popular with high enrollment by students. This he said is a good development.

In his farewell speech, Li Linping who is the Chinese Director at the Confucius Classroom extolled the Management for their support. He expressed satisfaction for the hospitality they enjoyed over the years while their contract lasted. He consequently promised to be an ambassador of Federal Polytechnic  Oko when he gets back to China.

Highlights of the event include display of Chinese fan dance, games, news broadcast and presentation of gift items to Li linping and Hu Ting.
