FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OKO ELECTS MEMBERS OF COUNCIL SELECTION BOARD

The Federal Polytechnic, Oko Congregation has elected Engr.Dr. Ananti John Egbunike, Mr. Chike Nwolum and Comrade Innocent Okeke as members of the selection Board.

Similarly, the Academic Board of the institution also elected Dr. Kenneth Ezekwe and Mr. Chioma Nwankwo as their representatives in the Selection Board.

The Rector and Chairman of Congregation and Academic Board, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie while announcing the result charged the winners to be free and objective during the selection process and ensure that the best hands are selected .

The selection board is charged with the responsibility of ensuring transparent process in the appointment of the Polytechnic Registrar which has been on acting capacity for the past four years and the Polytechnic Bursar which became vacant following the demise of the former Bursar.

The Selection Board ensures that the selection process is merit-based, transparent, and compliant with institutional regulations and extant laws.

Addressing the Academic Board members and Congregants during the emergency meeting held separately at the Polytechnic Auditorium on January 27, 2026, the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie thanked them for their support to her administration.

She explained that the essence of the emergency meeting was to elect the members of the selection board that will help to select the qualified candidates for the office of the Registrar and Bursar of the institution.

She used the opportunity to thank the staff for the sense of unity in the Polytechnic.

She states “I most sincerely appreciate all the members of staff for your unwavering support, solidarity, and sense of unity. As the saying goes, united we stand, divided we fall and united, we have chosen to stand.

“The enduring legacy I want to leave behind in Federal Polytechnic, Oko is peace, mutual respect, and a united institution, with this achieved, I will consider my service fulfilled” she said.

The Rector expressed happiness that her 12- points agenda is steadily being actualised, attributing such institutional growth to peace in the institution.

“I am glad to affirm that my 12-Point Agenda has been met holistically.

None is neglected, and none is sidelined.

Each speaks to the growth, stability, and future relevance of our great institution. Peace is the soil in which progress grows, and without it, no achievement can truly endure” she acknowledged.
