RECTOR TASKS POLYTECHNIC FEMALE STAFF ON REGULAR CONFERENCES

Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Awuzie has called on the Polytechnic Female Staff Association ( POFSA) to prioritise conferences and make it an annual affair for the good of the members of the association.

The Rector made the appeal at her office when the association paid her a courtesy visit.

The Rector emphasised that conference aims at advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and enhancing career opportunities.

She added that the second conference she attended as a staff of the Polytechnic was organised by POFSA, wondering why such conferences cannot be organised annually to facilitate knowledge sharing, networking, and professional development.

She commended the association for the solidarity and support to her administration, promising to support them in actualisation of their objectives.

Earlier, the POFSA president, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Joy Obiora who led other executive and stakeholders of the association on the courtesy visit thanked God for the elevation of one of their active members as the Substantive Rector of the institution.

She used the opportunity to commend their founding member, Prof. Lucy Nwuba and previous administrations of the institution for their support to the association.

She noted that the association which was birthed in 2005 started by organising conferences, praying together and catering for the welfare of all the female staff in the Polytechnic.

She promised that they will strengthen the association to make it more impactful.
