The Management of the Anambra state Polytechnic, Mgbakwu has proposed establishing an affiliation with the Federal Polytechnic, Oko to enable them run Higher National Diploma ( HND) programmes.
The Rector, Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, Dr. Njideka Rita Chiekezie who led other principal officers and staff on a courtesy visit to the office of the Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie said the reason for the collaboration is due to Federal Polytechnic Oko’s expertise on HND programmes.
She explained further that Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu presently runs National Diploma programmees in four schools which according to her, include: School of Engineering Technology, School of Management Sciences, School of Science and Technology and School of Agriculture, adding that the affiliation would enable smooth transitions for ND graduates into HND programmes and foster enhanced academic collaboration and increased students mobility.

” Our Polytechnic was established in 2017 from the erstwhile Anambra state College of Agriculture and presently offers ND programmes. We are presently facing significant challenges in initiating HND programmes due to limitations in resources and stringent accreditation requirements.”
Dr. Chiekezie used the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie on her recent appointment as the substantive Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko.
She commended Dr. Awuzie for her giant strides and achievements since assumption of office stating that good things are being testified of her.

Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of 500 journals and other text books to Federal Polytechnic Oko.
Responding, the Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie expressed joy over the visit and the idea of collaboration.
She expressed willingness to partner the sister Polytechnic, assuring them of her support.
She hinted that her doors are wide open for further collaboration that will better the lots of both staff and students of the Polytechnic.
