RECTOR FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OKO, DR.AWUZIE HONOURED WITH A CHIEFTAINCY TITLE BY IGWE UFUMA

Ufuma community in Orumba North LGA, Anambra State was agog with pomp and pageantry on 2nd January, 2026 during the annual celebration of ‘oriri ngwucha aho ovume’ where several distinguished personalities were recognized and honoured with Chieftaincy titles.

Among those honoured was the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr.Chioma Irene Awuzie, who was conferred with the title of Ugo Mmuta ( the rising eagle of knowledge and inspiration) by HRH Igwe S. chika Uchime, Diji III of Ufuma.

This honour conferred on the Rector is in recognition of her transformative leadership through infrastructural renewal and institutional revitalisation at Federal Polytechnic Oko, Ufuma Campus.

While bestowing the title, HRH Igwe S.Chika Uchime, Diji III described Dr.Awuzie as an uncommon achiever, a Rector with a difference and a woman who deserves to be honoured for her exceptional devotion to educational advancement and community development.

The Rector who was accompanied to the event by her husband, Chief Fidelis Awuzie, children, Management , Governing Council Members and Staff of Federal Polytechnic Oko, expressed her joy for the recognition, stating she is emboldened to contribute more to educational advancement, human development and societal transformation.

The event which was marked by cultural displays showcased the rich cultural heritage of Ufuma community.
