PRINCE JOHNPAUL UDOAKU EMERGES AS COUNCIL MEMBER

The Head, Department of Management Information and Communication Technology, (MICT) Prince Johnpaul Udoaku has been elected as the Non-Teaching Staff Representative in the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.

Prince Johnpaul polled a total of 146 votes to defeat Mr. Norbert Okoli who garnered 29 votes and Ms Amara Nwosu who got 9 votes.

The election which took place during the emergency congregation meeting held at the Polytechnic auditorium, extension site was conducted under a peaceful and friendly atmosphere. Result of the election was declared by the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie .

Rector, while addressing the congregation, thanked the moderators of the election , Deputy Rector Academic, Dr.Nkiruka Akabuike and Polytechnic orator, comrade S.I Okonkwo as well as the congregants for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner during the by-election.

She expressed joy that the by-election was devoid of blackmail, campaign of calumny and financial inducement that hitherto characterise such elections in the Polytechnic.

Welcoming the newly elected Governing Council Member into their fold, Comrade Chibuzo Asomugha eulogised the 12th Governing Council chairman, Senator Dr. Bananas Germade for his Leadership ingenuity and prowess, urging Prince Johnpaul Udoaku to be humble and open minded to learn a lot from the Governing Council.

Other staff who congratulated the new council member elect include: Comrade Chigozie Udeze, Mrs Ezeudensi Grace, Comrade Innocent Okeke and Comrade Nzeh Christian Charlesmary.

Responding, Prince Johnpaul Udoaku thanked the Rector , Dr. Chioma Awuzie, the management and the entire congregation for the opportunity given to him to represent the Non-teaching staff at the Governing Council of the institution, promising not to disappoint them.
