A group, Passionate Friends has disclosed that it is unwavering in its commitment to supporting the Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie in actualizing her 12 points agenda, aimed at repositioning the institution towards becoming a leading institution in technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
The TETFund Director of the institution and member of the Passionate Friends, Dr. Helen Nnabuenyi made the disclosure when she led members of the group to see the Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at her office.


Dr. Nnabuenyi further disclosed that the Passionate Friends which she said was formed in 2014 is the brain child of the Rector, expressing readiness of the group to support the Rector anytime they are called upon.
“Rector is our chairman. She formed this group in 2014 and we are here to congratulate her on her successful 100 days in office and to tell the Rector that we are readily available anytime any day our services may be required”
Responding, Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie appreciated the Passionate Friends for coming to identify with her as the substantive Rector of the Polytechnic.

The Rector further hinted that her administration will not rest on her oars until the 12 points agenda of human resource development, staff welfare, academic reinvention and programme development are actualized.
“I started this group as a thrift society about eleven years ago. We are like siblings. The group was majorly formed to help ourselves.

“As contained in my inaugural address, staff and students’ welfare, discipline, academic integrity and anti cultism will continue to be our watchword”
