Maintaining of security in Federal Polytechnic Oko has been outsourced to St. Christopher Security Services Ltd, a renowned and leading security outfit in the South East. The Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie made this known to the Polytechnic Community at the unveiling of the security outfit in the Polytechnic on Friday 16th May. The Rector who revealed that the Polytechnic Management and the owners of the security outfit have had extensive talks on modalities for the relationship emphasized that the security company is reputable and famous for watertight security wherever they operate.
She disclosed that she embarked on this measure due to the persistent insecurity challenges that had prevailed in the Polytechnic. Dr. Chioma Awuzie reiterated that it is her responsibility as the Rector to ensure the protection of lives and properties in the Institution. She then charged the security company to live up to their reputation, noting that the management expects nothing other than the best from them.
It will be recalled that in her inaugural address, the Rector revealed that she will rejig the security apparatus of the polytechnic to ensure effective security monitoring. This outsourcing of security is in fulfillment of the 12 key point agenda of Dr. Awuzie. Earlier, Chief Emeka Onyigbue speaking on behalf of St Christopher Security Services Ltd, assured the Rector that they will bring their expertise and ingenuity to bear in the assignment given to them and promised to effectively tackle security challenges in the Polytechnic.
