RECTOR’S VISIONARY LEADERSHIP BOOSTS ICT INFRASTRUCTURE WITH 71 NEW DESKTOP COMPUTERS

The ICT Academy of Federal Polytechnic Oko was filled with jubilation as the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, provided the centre with 71 desktop computers. The computers are specifically meant to be used at both the Mass Communication and Auditorium Exam centers during Computer-Based Test (CBT) exams.

The provision of these computers is a significant development, as the lack of functional ICT facilities had previously contributed to the loss of JAMB accreditation. This had deprived the polytechnic of hosting UTME exams, affecting students from Old Aguata Local Government Area and environs who relied on the institution as a JAMB centre.

The Director of ICT, Dr. Amobi P. Chiamogu, expressed his gratitude to the Rector in a letter of appreciation. He stated that the Rector’s leadership has resuscitated the Computer-Based testing mode of examination in the polytechnic; a vital step in restoring the institution’s reputation for excellence in technical and vocational education.

Dr. Chiamogu further praised the Rector, saying, ” We are delighted that under your administration, Federal Polytechnic Oko is regaining its pride of place among leading institutions in Nigeria. Indeed, a Daniel has come to judgement.”
