JOB APPLICANTS COMMEND RECTOR, DR.CHIOMA AWUZIE FOR TRANSPARENT RECRUITMENT EXERCISE IN FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OKO

A two-day recruitment exercise organised by the Federal Polytechnic, Oko has received commendations by the applicants who described the exercise as the best following the fair and transparent process the management adhered to.

Some of the applicants who spoke said the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie demonstrated a high level of fairness and followed due process required by law for the recruitment exercise.

They further disclosed that the officials of the Federal Ministry of Education, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Federal Character Commission who monitored the two-day interview exercise to ensure compliance with due process was the height of the objectivity in the process.

The interview exercise for the prospective employees was part of the process required to fill vacant positions created by staff retirements, relocations and voluntary exit.

The exercise began on Tuesday, January 20 and ended on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 under the supervision of the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie.

Addressing the applicants, the Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie welcomed the candidates, explaining that some of them who were invited for the interview may not be considered for employment as the institution will not exceed the limit of approval granted to it by the Federal government.

She noted that the recruitment process was designed to be transparent and fair, while also ensuring that the polytechnic operates within its approved financial limits.

She noted that the recruitment exercise followed all the required due process starting from the advertisement of the vacant positions in the Daily Sun of October 8, 2025 which lasted until November 19, 2025 in order to ensure openness and transparency.
