Heads of departments of the Federal Polytechnic Oko have been warned to take the ongoing staff personnel audit exercise seriously.
Chairman of the 12th Governing Council of the Polytechnic, Senator Barnabas Gemade OFR while declaring the event open on Tuesday, 22nd April, 2025 at the extension site auditorium, ordered that any Head of Department found complicit in shielding any ghost worker will face disciplinary actions.

Represented by the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, the Council chairman said the staff audit exercise is not to witch-hunt any staff but to carry out a positive personnel audit exercise that will enable the Institution ascertain the real staff strength and departments in need of personnel.
“We want you all to take this exercise seriously as the Governing Council will not tolerate any head of unit or department that tries to cover any staff, especially those that have travelled abroad.
“No one can serve two masters at a time. Any anomaly discovered in the course of the exercise will be looked into and if any one is found wanting, the person will be referred to staff disciplinary committee for necessary action”
Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Dr. Kenneth Ezekwe appreciated the Governing Council for the trust reposed in the committee members, promising staff of transparency and fairness.
