Seven students of our Polytechnic have been offered full scholarship by a famous Philanthropist and humanitarian, Chief Dr. Chukwuebuka Onunkwo CEO Seahorse Lubricants.
The Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie presented the cheque of two hundred thousand naira each, to the beneficiaries.


The Rector advised the students to make judicious use of the money by taking their studies seriously and remaining focused and committed to their educational and professional development.
She extended her appreciation to the Philanthropist, Chief Dr. Chukwuebuka Onunkwo for the gesture and prayed for continued guidance and protection upon his family and business.
The Dean,Students Affairs, Comrade Chibuzo Asomugha who earlier presented the students to the Rector, explained that Anambra Youth Scholarship Scheme called for application from Indigent Anambra Youths in various Tertiary Institutions in the State to apply for the N10m (Ten Million Naira) scholarship grant sponsored by Chief Onunkwo.


He further explained that Federal Polytechnic Oko, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka; Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Federal College of Education (Technical ) Umunze, Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, Anambra State College of Health, Obosi and
Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe were among the public tertiary institutions enlisted for the scholarship.
He added that the beneficiaries will be offered full scholarship.
In his remarks, the SUG President Comrade Chinecherem Odimegwu used the opportunity to appreciate the Rector for resuscitating the poly water factory and ensuring that indigent students have opportunity to work there. He equally thanked the Rector for equipping the ICT centre with 71 new desktop computers to boost learning. He went ahead to appreciate the scholarship donor for his kind gesture and called on well meaning Nigerians to institute such scheme for students.


Beneficiaries of the scholarship are as follows: Ekwenem Makuochukwu Esther , Department of Business Administration. Nnodim Michael Jamike, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Innocent Amarachi Maryjane, Department of Food Technology. Okoye Favour Uju, Department of Mass Communication. Nwafor Miracle Ebube, Department of Public Administration. Obiaeli Anita, Department of Fine and Applied Art . Nwankwo Ifeoma Juliet, Department of Home and Rural Economics.
Some of the beneficiaries, Innocent Amarachi Mary jane of Food Technology Department and Okoye Favour Uju of Mass Communication Department expressed joy on their consideration for the scholarship, describing the gesture as a dream come through.

According to Mary jane, “the scholarship is a dream come through. I am happy that I can now pay for my school fees and Project fees. May God continue to bless the benefactor and may all his heart desires be granted”
