The Rector Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie has performed the foundation stone laying ceremony of security post at the extension site.  It will be recalled that security is one of the 12 key point agenda which the Rector articulated in order to give the Polytechnic a face lift. While performing the foundation stone laying ceremony, the Rector stated unequivocally that security of lives of staff and students is paramount to her.

She stated that the security post became quite a necessity because of the issues of insecurity that has persisted at the area.  The security post when completed will ensure the deployment of adequate security personnel to oversee the extension site.

Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Rector Administration, Dr.  Kenneth Ezekwe, Deputy Rector Academic, Dr. Uche Onyegbu. Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Nwabu Ezemba, Director Academic Programme , Ven Dr. Ferguson Ezeokafor, Council members, Comrade Chibuzo Asomugha and Dr. Helen Nnaebuenyi who also doubles as Director TETFund Federal Polytechnic Oko, Ag. Dean School of Applied Science, Dr. Nkeiru Akabuike and other staff members .
